How to start CATALYST in ABCC computers?

The following document explains the steps needed for the software Catalyst (current version 4.11) to work properly in ABCC environment. Note throughout the document the commands to type on the unix shell are shown in red. To use Catalyst in ABCC you need a ABCC user account and an Oracle account. If you have questions, please feel free to contact ABCC Help-Desk.

General Information

Each Catalyst session will create a new sub-directory called "catdata". In the catdata, there will be many files containing information pertaining to that particular session. One such file called 'StockroomDB.bdb' contains information about the Catalyst server (in our case IBM) and the oracle database server.
